MY STORY
I am a high school student in Loudoun County, Virginia. I started Samiyastrings after completing a school project in which my team had to sell pencils and donate the money to a charity of our choice . Sadly one of our teachers had recently passed away so, my group decided to donate the money to his family. Helping a family in need had really touched my heart and I knew that it was something I wanted to continue even after the school project was over. As if it was destined, a couple of days later,a friend of mine asked me where I got the bracelet that I was wearing. When I told her that I made it myself and also showed her a few others I had also made, she requested that I make one for her and that she will pay me for that. I told her I was going to make it for her regardless of her money. My friends appreciation for my hand-made bracelet made me wonder that what if I use my hobby to help those who are not as fortunate as me and SamiyaStrings was born. I am so excited to use my hobby to raise funds to help others. Over the last year or so, I have been saving any cash gifts I received from family and friends to buy the supplies. My parents have offered to help me with the initial supplies. I hope to rely on proceeds of the sales to buy any future supplies and donate all the profits to the local food bank (Dulles South Food Pantry). I will most definitely add more causes and would love to hear from you all on what causes are high priority for you. I sure hope you help me fight for those in need one (or more) string at a time.
Thank you!

donations
My first donation was to the Dulles South Food Pantry! I was ecstatic to finally donate all the money I had been raising over the past 6 months. I was thrilled to hear that with the $200 that I had donated, I would provide 10 families with milk for a week. Knowing that I will be helping others is why I will continue to push myself and raise money for those who are not as fortunate as myself! My goal is to make more donations to other charities and help those in need!
I most recently made my second donation of $500 to the Dulles South Food Pantry!
On December 13, 2021 I made my second donation to the Dulles South Food Pantry. I was so happy that I was so supported from my community to be able to make such a donation to those in need! I will continue to work hard to help others and hope to make more donations to the food pantry and other charities!
